Evidently Jesus had not reveal the doctrine of "once in grace always in grace" to the apostle Paul before Paul warned  the elders in Ephesus to beware of savage wolves. Savage wolves would be of no threat to Christians who could never lose their salvation.

Acts 20:28-29 Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 29 I know after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;

Savage wolves cannot hurt Christians who are protected by eternal security. The problem is the doctrine of  once in grace always in grace, eternal security, nor perseverance of the saints is found in the Bible.
The church need elders who know the Scriptures and are willing to shepherd the flock.

Savage wolves do come into the church and they bring,"The Savage Wolf Creed Book" with them. The creed book is used to undermine and discredit the clear teachings of the Scriptures.

If the the Savage Wolf Creed book is not effective in deceiving the flock, then, the wolves contend that basic Bible doctrine has been taken out of context.

There has never been a savage wolf who did not try to discredit the Scriptures by asserting that all translations of the Bible are in error. Their contention is you can only trust the wolves for the truth.

Savages wolves discourage the flock from looking to Jesus and the apostles for their teaching. Savage wolves like to teach from extra-Biblical sources. One mans extra-Biblical source is just as valid as the next. That opens up the flock to becoming prime wolf food.

Savage wolves love Bible commentaries, creed books, the writings of the early church fathers, any book not written and inspired by the Holy Spirit is their choice.

The most hated phrase for savage wolves is "TRUST THE BIBLE AND THE BIBLE ALONE."
