Was Judas The Devil?

Dear Brother Faull,

I have a serious inquiry. In John 6:70-21, Jesus called Judas a devil.  In no other passage in the Bible is the word devil applied to anyone but of Satan himself.  The word here in the Greek is diabolus and THE DEFINITE ARTICLE in employed meaning “one of you is THE DEVIL in the verse.  Now Jesus called him the Son of Perdition in John 17:12, “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.”  So, my question is simply, who was Judas or was he the devil incarnate?
Consider II Thessalonians 2:3-10.

The answer to your question is this.  You have made several false statements.

1.             The text does not have the definite article, so this is not referring to “the devil.”

2.             The Bible says that Jesus chose Judas.
It is inconceivable that He would purposely choose “the devil” as an inspired apostle for He knew whom He chose.  John 13:11
3.             Judas fell.
Acts 1:25 Can the epitome of evil fall only after he became an apostle of Jesus?
4.             Satan entered his heart; therefore he is not Satan.
John 13:27
5.             He is not the only one to be called diabalos.
I Timothy 3:11, II Timothy 3:3, Titus 2:3
The word is simply “an accuser, an informer or slanderer” as seen above.
6.             Peter was called “Satan” or “adversary” (one who opposes another in purpose and act), but was
        not Satan.
Matthew 16:23
7.             Elymus was called “the son of the devil” (diabalos), but was not the literal “child of Satan.”
Acts 13:10
8.       The fact that both Judas and the man of sin are called “the son of Perdition” should not be reason to believe that Judas was the “devil” incarnate.
This has often been held by heretical sects, but there is no reason for that.  Some are called “the child of the devil,” but it does not follow that they are incarnate devils.
Ø       An individual angel may be called “the son of God.”
Ø       Adam was called the “son of God.”
Ø       An individual believer is called “the son of God.”
Ø       Jesus is called the “Son of God.”

Yet these are not equated to be the same being.  The same can be said of “the son of man.”  Ezekiel is called the “son of man” repeatedly, yet he is not the “Son of man” as Jesus is.

So, jumping to the conclusion that Judas was the devil would be rash.

OBEYING THE GOSPEL?  by steve finnell

Is obeying the gospel essential to salvation? Yes, it is essential.

What obeying the gospel is not.
1. Obeying the gospel is not keeping the Law of Moses.
2. Obeying the gospel is not doing good works.
3. Obeying the gospel is not being individually selected for salvation.
4. Obeying the gospel is not being saved by grace alone.
5. Obeying the gospel is not being baptized as an infant.
6. Obeying the gospel is not being saved by faith alone.

Is obeying the gospel essential for salvation? Yes.

1. 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 ......the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.(NKJV)

Those who believed and were baptized into Christ were set free from sin. Romans 6:3-7. Note: They were set free from sin after being immersed in water not the minute they believed.

Jesus gave the gospel to obey. Mark 16:15-16...preach the gospel.....16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved....(NKJV)

2. 1 Peter 4:17 For the time has come for judgement to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end who do not obey the gospel of God?(NKJV)

Sounds like a question that answers itself.

3. Romans 6:17-18 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.(NKJV)

They obeyed the doctrine of the gospel. Yes, obedience is required to be set free from sin. The apostle Peter gave the gospel requirements on the Day of Pentecost. Acts 2:22-41.
He preached the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. He preached Jesus as Lord and Christ. He preached repentance and water baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

THE GOSPEL PLAN OF SALVATION: 1.FAITH John 3:16. 2. CONFESSION Romans 10:9. 3. REPENTANCE Acts 3:19, Acts 2:38. 4. IMMERSION IN WATER Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, 1 Peter 3:21.

According to the false doctrine of John Calvin all men are guilty of sin and totally depraved at birth because of the original sin of Adam.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. (NKJV)

Man's own sin and wickedness separates him from God. Do not blame Adam.

Psalm 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb; They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.(NKJV)

The wicked go astray, they are not born wicked. They are not born astray.

Genesis 1:26 The God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness....(NKJV)

God created man in His own likeness. God is not totally depraved nor is He guilty of sin. Man was not, nor is he created totally depraved, nor guilty of sin.

James 3:9 With it we bless our God and Father, and curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God.(NKJV)

Men have been made in the likeness of God. Men are and were not created depraved and sinful in the womb.

Proverbs 11:18-19 The wicked man does deceptive work, But to him who sows righteousness will be a sure reward. 19 As righteousness leads to life, So he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death.(NKJV)

If all men are born totally depraved, then no man could pursue righteousness. The wicked pursue evil, they are not born evil.

Ezekiel 18:21 "But if a wicked man turns from all his sin which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.(NKJV)

How would it be possible for a wicked man to turn from his sins if he was born totally depraved? Notice it does not say turn from the sin Adam committed. Men are not born  totally depraved and guilty of Adam's sin. Men become wicked by choice.

Proverbs 10:16 The labor of the righteous leads to life, The wages of the wicked to sin.(NKJV)

Totally depraved men cannot labor in righteousness.

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned---(NKJV)

All men die spiritually, and physically---because all men sin. Men are not born guilty of Adam's sin nor are they born totally depraved.

The doctrine of original sin, that being, because Adam sinned  all men are born totally depraved and guilty of Adam's sin is not found in Scripture.

The truth of the matter is Satan was the original sinner and even he was not created totally depraved.

Ezekiel 28:11-15......15 You were perfect in your ways  from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.(NKJV)

Satan was created perfect and became the original sinner.

1 John 3:8 ...for the devil has sinned from the beginning..(NKJV)

Eve was created perfect and became the second sinner.

Genesis 3:6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eye, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of it and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.(NKJV)

Adam was created perfect and became the third sinner.

All men are created sinless and become sinners because they sin.

According to a 2012 Gallup poll 77% of those living in the U.S.A. identify as Christians. How many of the 77% are hypocrites or false Christians?

According to a May 22, 2014 Gallup poll only 46% of those living in the U.S.A. oppose killing unborn babies by abortion.

Obviously a large percentage of those who identify as Christian see nothing wrong with murdering unborn babies, would they be hypocrites or false Christians?

According to a Gallup poll July, 2013 54 % of those living in the U.S.A. support same sex marriage.

If 77% say they are Christians and 54% of the population say they support gay marriage, then there is lot of support among those who claim to be believers in Christ for gay marriage. Are they hypocrites or false Christians?

Do the Scriptures support homosexual marriage and killing unborn babies?

1 John 3:15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.(NKJV)

If killing unborn innocent babies is not murder, then what would it be?

Revelation 21:8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."(NKJV)

The sexually immoral and murderers will have their part in the lake of fire.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?....nor homosexuals, nor sodomites.....11 And such were some of you . But you were washed, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.(NKJV)

When it comes to participating or approving of abortion and same sex marriage, it should be past tense if you are claiming to be a Christian. The apostle Paul said SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU not  ARE SOME OF YOU.

If you claim to be a Christian and approve of sinful practices or live a sinful lifestyle, then you are either a hypocrite or a false Christian.

In a 2008 Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life 57% of Evangelical Christians said there might be other ways to heaven other than Jesus.

Would that indicate hypocrisy or false Christians?

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (NKJV)

Mark 16:16 He who has believed, and has been immersed, will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.(T.B.V.O.T.N.T) by Chester Estes

Galatians 3:17-27....26 Since you are sons of God through that belief, by Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been immersed into Christ , have put on Christ.(T.B.V.O.T.N.T) by Chester Estes

If you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that God raised Him from the dead. If you claim Jesus as Lord and Savior. If you have been baptized into Christ for the remission of your sins, then you are a Christian.

The question remains how many of the 77% who claim to be Christians are hypocrites or false Christians?

If you were to look at the Biblical accounts and teaching about salvation what would be your conclusion? If you were to look at teaching about salvation, of the hundreds, of denominations would it be different from the Scriptures?

After Jesus was resurrected from the dead He said this. Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Mark 16:15-16 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

What does that mean to you? I am not asking what you have been taught to believe.

The church of Christ began on the Day of Pentecost and was recorded in the book of Acts along with the conversions of the early church.

The firsts conversions.
Acts 2:37-41 Now when they heard this they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?" 38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit......41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.

How would you interpret these Scriptures? I am not asking how Bible commentators have explained these Scriptures.

Acts 8:5-12.....12 But when they believed Philip preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, men and women alike.

What do you believe this means? I am not asking what your church catechism teaches.

Acts 8: 26-40 .....35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. 36 As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?" 37[And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said , "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."] 38 And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him.......

What do you think just happened with Philip and the eunuch? I am not asking you what your church leaders have taught you.

Acts 10:34-47.....43 Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness from sins.".........48 And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ......

What is your understanding of theses verses of Scripture? I am not asking you how your church creed book explains them.

Acts 16:14-15 A woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshiper of God, was listening; and the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul. 15 And when she and her household had been baptized......

What do you believed happened? I am not asking you what your church statement of faith said just occurred.

Acts 16:22-33.....29 And he called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas, 30 And said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31 They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." 33 And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household.

What is your view of what happened here? I am not asking about views that are found in books written about the Bible.

Acts 8:8 Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his household, and many of the Corinthians when they heard were believing and being baptized.

What is your understanding of theses events. I am not asking how these events are explained in extra-Biblical writings.

Acts 19:3-5 And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" And they said "Into John's baptism." 4 Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is Jesus." 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

What do you believed happened here? I am not asking what your Bible study group decided occurred.

Acts 22:12-16.....16 Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name!

What do you think took place with Saul? I am not asking what T.V. preachers think.

Can you see any correlation between what Jesus said in Matthew 28:29, Mark 16:15,16 and the Christian conversions in the book of Acts?

Are the conversions in the book of Acts a true representation of what is found in church catechisms, books about the Bible, church statements of faith, T.V. preacher's sermons, church creed books, what your church leaders teach, what you always thought to be true, or what the early church fathers believed.

What do you think the book of Acts teaches about Biblical salvation? No man can be saved by what others believe.

Be honest with yourself. Is what you believe about salvation, Biblical or extra-Biblical?

Should We Use The "Purpose Driven Life?"

Dear Brother Faull,

Should we use the “Purpose Driven Life” and the 40-day program it advocates in our Church?

I would not recommend if for the following reasons:

1.                   The author does not hold to the New Testament pattern in many areas of theology.
It is the same o, same o use of fads that’s ruining our Churches because it introduces false doctine.

2.                   It is Calvinistic through and through and most readers will not be able to even discern the doctrine hidden in its pages.
He even says God planned that children would be born out of wedlock!  Did he plan fornication?  It claims that he planned our life in every detail even to the reading of His book!

3.                   It is presumptuous from the very beginning.
It informs us that God planned for you to read the Book before you were born.  Has a more egotistical remark ever begun a book.  It assures the reader will be transformed.  That is audacious.

4.                   It manipulates the reader by using 15 alleged translations, many of which are only paraphrases and not translations, so you will get the nuance he wants you to get.

It borders on manipulation.

5.                   He uses paraphrases to prove his Calvinism and predestination doctrines.

6.                   It has dozens of verses taken out of context.
A text out of context indicates a pre-text.

7.                   Its emphasis is trite.
He says, “whenever God wanted to prepare someone for His purpose, He took 40 days.”  He then names a few Bible characters of which this is alleged to be true, but this is not true even of these people.  Forty is the number of probation not preparation. That is, someone is on trial or being tested, not transformed.  He says,  “Whenever God wanted to prepare someone for his purposes, he took 40 days…  The next forty days will (not may) transform your life.”

He says, “God considers 40 days a spiritually significant time period.  When God wanted to prepare someone for His purpose, He took forty days.”

This is not so.  One could name dozens of Bible saints that a 40-day period had no significance in their life.
8.                   It gets very repetitive especially in latter chapters in order to continue their 40-day idea.

9.                   It is your typical faddish “easily believism.”
“Jesus, I believe in you, I receive you.”  Welcome to the family of God.  That doesn’t sound like Luke 14:26-27, “26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.”

10.                It stresses a false plan of salvation of “faith only” rather than obedience to the faith.
Romans 1:5, “By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:”

Romans 16:26, “But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:” He advocates that the sinner’s prayer will save.  This is unscriptural.

11.                He quotes many renowned popular religious figures like Mother Teresa with no warning of her universalistic, New Age philosophy and her Mariolatry and subjection to the Pope of Rome.

Other well-known apostates are quoted as if they were Christians.

12.                Warren is known for his “seeker sensitive” fad as if there were people everywhere who are diligently seeking God though they are in a lifestyle of hedonism, debauchery and rebellion.

“Seeker sensitive” is absurd language for a Calvinist to even speak about.  Supposedly the lost have no ability to seek God.  They are totally depraved and God must give them faith so they can be part of the elect.

13.                It preaches a diluted gospel at best.
Sin, repentance, the cross, or the empty tomb is noticeably rarely mentioned.  The Gospel definitely is not explained, yet the book is supposed to be for both sinner and saint.

My beef with the book is, “where’s the cross?”

14.                If you use this book as a textbook, you are not marking and avoiding false teachers, but rather promoting a denominational preacher.  You are making him an authority and expert on a subject that he knows little about.

15.                Any book outside the Bible that is well received for Bible study by Churches of all persuasions must be suspect.

16.                To use this book is to follow the philosophy that the end justifies the means.
A book filled with abused Scriptures, false concepts, easy believism, Calvinism and faith-only doctrine as a means to an end cannot produce more good fruit than harm.

17.                Our Churches are turning Baptists in their doctrine, they are joining Baptists Church Associations, they are inviting in Baptist ministers to our conventions and colleges and they are using books by Baptist authors for study guides.
Think of the foolishness of doing that.  “Repent and be Baptists” is the cry of our Churches.  I for one protest solemnly.  Our Churches do not do anything to alarm the flock but invite their Pastors in to feed them.  Some Elders and Preachers are going to have a lot of explaining to do to the Chief Shepherd.

I could name Churches in my area that is Christian Church or Church of Christ in name only.  They are totally Baptist in doctrine, polity, and vocabulary due to their fads.

18.                Stop and think how absurd it is for a predestinationist who believes that everything ever done is planned of God, to be a pusher of someone to be driven by a purpose.
If God ordained or planned for man to accomplish or be something, mans own drive is worthless and fruitless.  Imagine a predestinated man having to read a mere man’s book to fulfill his destiny.  How could a man choose to have a “purpose driven life” if predestination is true?  It would be like preaching to the elect.  It would be unnecessary.

19.                He denies that baptism is essential to salvation or a part of being added to the Church, but it’s merely an initiation.
What?  That’s what an initiation is, “a bringing into.”
Galatians 3:27, “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”

Romans 6:3, “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?”
I Corinthians 12:13, “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”

These show that baptism is into ChristHis death and His body!  Is there salvation anywhere else than in Christ?  How do you get into Christ?  Is baptism not essential?  There are no un-baptized Christians in the Bible.

His chapter on baptism is atrocious.  No wonder our Churches are so mixed up!

20.                It is dangerous for a leadership to recommend a book to its congregation.
The people buy into the book, the author and his concepts and then they are sold on him, and they buy his next book.  So it continues on and on.  Warren had the Purpose Driven Church, now the Purpose Driven Life.  What’s next?  Who knows, but you can depend on our faddish Brethren to seek it out and Standard and College Press to promote it big time, false doctrine and all!

Should unborn children be executed without a judge and twelve jurors sentencing them to death? Why do adults get their day in court, but the unborn are killed without a fair trial? Why are the unborn deemed worthy of death?

The advocates of abortion contend that unborn children are not human, but are simply nonhuman fetal tissue.

God makes clear the life begins at conception.

Job 3:3 "May the day perish on which I was born. And the night in which it was said, 'A male child is conceived.'(NKJV)

Children are children at conception.

Genesis 25:21-22 Now Isaac pleaded with the Lord for his wife , because she was barren; and the Lord granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 But the children struggled together within her; and she said, "If all is well, why am I this way?" So she went to inquire of the Lord.(NKJV)

Rebekah do not conceive nonhuman fetuses. Children struggled in her womb.

Luke 1:36 "Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this now the sixth month for her who was called barren.(NKJV)

Elizabeth conceived a son. She did not conceive a nonhuman fetus.

Did the Virgin Mary conceive Jesus as the Son of God, or was Jesus a nonhuman blog, called a fetus? (Luke 1:30-31)

Since Roe v Wade 57 million unborn babies have been executed without appearing before a judge and a jury of their peers. What crime did those 57 million babies commit that they should be sentenced to death without a trial

Why are churches of Christ losing members or at best seeing anemic growth? Could it be because the world looks at Christians and see no discernible difference between the world and Christians?

Could anemic growth be attributed to the fact that churches do not teach against the Masonic Lodge, but instead call Masons to preach or place them in other leadership positions in the church?

Mackey's Encyclopedia of Freemasonry-B
BIBLE....Therefore, whatever to any people express that will may be used as a substitute for the Bible in a Masonic Lodge. Thus, in a Lodge consisting entirely of Jews, the Old Testament alone  may be placed upon the altar, and Turkish Freemasons make use of the Koran. Whether it be the Gospels to the Christian, the Pentateuch to the Israelite, the Koran to the Mussulman, or the Vedas to the Brahman, it everywhere Masonically conveys the same idea-that of the symbolism of the Divine Will revealed to man.

Galatians 1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached, he is to be accursed!

Paul said let them be accursed. The modern church says welcome them with open arms and ordained them to leadership positions in the church.

The contemporary church says do not preach or teach against sinful practices in the church, because might offend some members.

1 Corinthians 5:11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler---not even to eat with such a one.

Contrary to what the apostle Paul wrote, our churches today say, do not point out the sins of church members. The mantra is we just need to love them. Not only are we told to just love them,  we ordain or tolerate homosexuals, adulterers, and other fornicators in leadership positions in the church.  Yes, drunkards as well.

Is it possible that the reason for anemic or no church growth is the lack of repentance among church members and no expectations of seeing a difference between Christians and those outside of Christ?

Did Jesus Say Anything About Homosexuality?

Mr. Faull, you’re all wet about homosexuality.  The sin of sodomy in the Old Testament has nothing to do with those of us who simply want to be faithful in a loving married homosexual relationship.

The Commandments against homosexuality in the Old Testament has to do with male prostitution.  God calls such men, “dogs.”  When the God of the Old Testament teaches against it, He refers to those involved in this abominable practice.  (Leviticus 18:22)  Jesus never said a word about gay marriages and He is the one we listen to today.

I will have to disagree with you and if you care to read my answer about homosexuals in the Old Testament, you may consult my prior writings in the Gospel Unashamed.

You speak as if the God of the Old Testament is a different God than in the New Testament.  They are one and the same and homosexuality is condemned in both Testaments as a great sin against a Holy God.

I wish to answer your argument about Jesus not teaching about gay marriages.  I think a simple reading of what Jesus said about marriage in general will show you what a careless reader you are.

When the Pharisees questioned Him about divorce, notice what Matthew 19:4-6 says, “4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause (that they are male and female) shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together (a man and a wife), let not man put asunder.”

On divorce He said, “from the beginning it was not so.”  Jesus went back to the Creators’ design for marriage and it’s:

1.                 Participants (male and female)

2.                 Practicality (leave father and mother)

3.                 Purpose (the two shall be one flesh)

4.                 Prohibition (do not put asunder what God joined together)

5.                 Principle (as His Will was for it to be as in the beginning)

Jesus believed the book of Genesis.  He speaks of creation of the world (Mark 13:19), of man (Matthew 19:4), and of the marriage of Adam and Eve (Matthew 19:5-6).  He speaks of Abel’s martyrdom (Matthew 23:35), Noah’s flood (Matthew 24:37-39Luke 17:26-30), Abraham’s faith (John 8:40, 56), Isaac (Luke 13:28), Jacob’s dream (John 1:47-51), and Lot’s wife (Luke 17:32).  But He also spoke of the destruction of the Sodomites’ cities of Sodom and Gomorrah (Luke 17:28-32Matthew 10:1511:24Mark 6:11).  If there had been 5 couples in a “loving married relationship” by your perverted view, hundreds of thousands of souls would not have been destroyed.  Ten righteous souls is all that were needed to spare the city.

Your attempt to separate the Old Testament and the New Testament and the Old Testament God and the Lord Jesus; is futile and ludicrous.  Jesus is the Creator of all and the very one who instituted marriage.  Marriage is the picture of Christ and His Bride (the Church) using the same compassion. “31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery (or revelation of God): but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she  reverence  her husband.”   Ephesians 5:31-33

You, sir, by your gay marriage would make Christ a spiritual homosexual.  Such blasphemy will not go unnoticed or unpunished by our Ominscient God who in the beginning established His directive Will and made them male and female.  Adam said, “this is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.  She shall be called woman because she was taken out of man.  Therefore, (what’s that “therefore” there for?) shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife (woman) and they shall be one flesh.”  Genesis 2:23-24

I suggest you repent and do likewise.

Incidentally, the “Jesus never said anything about it” argument is absurd on its face value.  He never mentioned pedophilia, bestiality, cannibalism, rape, wife beating or any number of other sins.  The only one who would use such rationale is someone trying to defend some kind of a practice that he is involved in.  It’s kind of like a witch defending seances.  God in the New Testament addressed it, but Jesus never referred to it, so He permits it.

Sin blinds people to their own foolish rationale.
