ARE CALVINISTS HYPOCRITES?  by Steve finnell

Calvinist doctrine states that God has predetermined who will be saved and who will burn in hell. They believe that God forces men to have faith so they can believe and be saved. The opposite of forced belief for believers would be that God prevents atheists from believing the gospel and being saved from the penalty of sin.

Question:  Why do Calvinists preach the gospel if it does not have the power to save? Is that not hypocritical?

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also the Greek. (NKJV)

The gospel has the power to save everyone who believes. Salvation is not limited to so-called predetermined Calvinists.

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (NKJV)

Faith comes by hearing the gospel. Faith was not imputed to a select few Calvinists before the world began.

Question: If Christians are once saved always saved, why do Calvinists preach against Christians living a sinful lifestyle?

If Calvinist honestly believe their doctrine is true, then any preaching of the gospel or preaching that Christians should refrain from sinning would be hypocritical or at best a waste of time.
