WILL GOD HONOR MAN-MADE EXCEPTIONS TO HIS RULES? by steve finnell
Can men add amendments to the doctrines of God? If it seems right to men, does that make it a Biblical fact? Well, men try to make exceptions to God's word continually. Will God honor those exceptions on Judgment Day?
Acts 2:38 Peter replied: "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven. And then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.(NIV)
Man-made exceptions to Acts 2:38: If you are too ill or die before you have time to be baptized in water, then your sins can be forgiven by saying the "Sinner's Prayer."
John 3:36 Whoever puts his faith in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see that life, for God's wrath remains on him." (NIV)
Man-made exceptions to John 3:36: 1.If an atheist does good works he will see eternal life.
2. If a person sincerely believes in a higher power, he may still have eternal life. He may not even know the name of Jesus. But he is still part of the body of Christ.
Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved....(NIV)
Did you ever notice certain believers in Jesus excuse men from being baptism if they die before they have had time to be baptized? Odd, that these same believers never claim that a person who dies before they have had time to believe, will be saved without believing.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. (NIV)
There is no example given in the New Testament of unbaptized believers being saved. All examples of conversions to Christ were baptized in water. No exceptions were given.
There is no example given under the New Covenant of non-believers being added to the body of Christ. Only the saved were added to the church. (Acts 2:47...And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. NIV)
The apostle Paul had something to say about altering the gospel. (Galatians 1:9.....If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned! NIV)
