TRIPLE HEART BYPASS & WATER BAPTISM by steve finnell
If you needed a triple heart bypass would you consult a "faith only" cardiologist? If you asked your cardiologist if a triple bypass was essential to cure your heat problem and he said no; because you just needed to have faith in him. If he said a heart surgeon is simply performing a work and works cannot cure your heat, would you look for a new doctor?
If you consulted a preacher and he said water baptism was not essential for salvation, because you only need to have faith is Jesus, would you consult another preacher? If that preacher said immersion in water is a work and works will not saved you, would check out the Scriptures concerning water baptism?
You need a heart surgeon to perform a triple bypass. You a baptizer to baptize you for the forgiveness of your sins.
Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (NKJV)
Mark 16:16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved...(NKJV)
No sane person would believe a cardiologist who said your heart condition can be cured by faith in him alone.
Why would anyone believe a preacher who told them they could be saved without water baptism, because they would be saved by "faith alone?"
The cardiologist would be consider to be a quack. What would you deem a "faith only" preacher to be?
