I FEEL SAVED BY STEVE FINNELL
Is it enough to feel as though you sins have been forgiven and believe in your heart that you are a child of God? Are you saved because your denomination tell you that you are saved? Are feelings sufficient or should you know you are saved because the Bible tells you so?
If feelings were the benchmark for salvation, then, all men of each and every religion, every cult, and all denominations would be saved.
The Judaizers believed they could be saved by blending the Law of Moses and the New Covenant terms for pardon.
Galatians 5:1-4......4 You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
The Judaizers felt saved, however, they were lost. Feelings cannot saved anyone.
There are many today who feel saved because they have recited a form of a "Sinners Prayer." There is no Scripture under the New Covenant that states in order for a non-Christian to have their sins forgiven and become saved, all they have to do is just say a prayer. In fact, never was anyone told to pray in order to have their sins forgiven and to be saved.
Jesus said believe and be baptized in order to be saved. (Mark 16:16)
The apostle Peter told those who had believed, to repent and be baptized in order to have their sins forgiven.(Acts 36-38)
Not one person was every told by Jesus or the apostles that if you feel saved, then you are saved.
There is no Scripture that says your are saved if you adhere to your denomination's view of the New Covenant terms for pardon.
I KNOW I AM SAVED BECAUSE THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO!
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TELL ME ABOUT BEING SAVED?
1. FAITH---John 3:16
2. REPENTANCE---Acts 3:19
3. CONFESSION---Romans 10:9-10
4. WATER BAPTISM---Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:21

ReplyDeleteTo all those who believe that they can trust their feelings as a guide, remember Samson, a mighty judge of Israel, was not even aware that God had left him (Judges 16:20). The heart (feelings) are not to be trusted and impossible to truly understand (Jeremiah 17:9). Do not be fooled, if you can not simply and reasonably defend from the Bible your beliefs without contradicting simple logic/common sense or other scriptures (Isaiah 1:18), it may be time to rethink your mindset. Question your motives about how you approach the Word of God. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free (John 8:32)
