PRAYING TO THE VIRGIN MARY? BY STEVE FINNELL

Is praying to the Virgin Mary worship? Is worshiping anyone other than God a sin?

Worship Defined: To show profound religious devotion and respect to; adore or venerate.

Do Catholics pray to the Virgin Mary? Yes.

ANCIENT PRAYER TO THE VIRGIN MARY

We turn to you for protection, holy Mother of God.

Listen to our prayers and help us in our needs.

Save us from every danger, glorious blessed Virgin.

REF: Catholic Online http://catholic.org/prayer.php?p=1131

Praying to anyone is worship.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

What does the Bible tell us about prayer?

Romans 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ...(NKJV

The apostle Paul did not thank the Virgin Mary. Paul did not thank God through the Virgin Mary.

Luke 11:1-2 "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven....(NKJV)

Jesus told his disciples to pray to God the Father. Jesus never told his disciple to pray to the Virgin Mary nor any other saint.

Matthew 26:53 "Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? (NKJV)

Jesus not once mentioned praying to the holy Mother of God. Jesus never prayed to the Virgin Mary.

Colossians 1:3 We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you. (NKJV)

The apostle Paul nor any other apostle never gave thanks to the Virgin Mary. Yes, Christians who are alive can pray for others, however, Christians should not pray to others, and that includes the Virgin Mary and other dead saints.

Ephesians 5:20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (NKJV)

We are not to give thanks to nor in the name of the Virgin Mary.

Matthew 6:9 "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10. Your kingdom come. Your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven.
11. Give us this day our daily bread.
12. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
13. And do not lead us into temptation, But delivers us from evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. (NKJV)

The Virgin Mary has no power nor authority to give us our daily bread. The Virgin Mary cannot forgive us our debts. The Virgin Mary cannot deliver us from evil. The Virgin Mary has no kingdom.

Praying to the Virgin Mary or praying to any Christian dead or alive is worship.

We are to pray to God the Father through Jesus Christ.

No man nor woman can answer our prayers.

It is sin to worship anyone other than God.

  2. It's easy to give and take credit as well cast blame when everyone involved doesn't have a clear understanding as to HOW and WHY things work out the way they do.

ANYTHING in this world can be "Demonized" in a mind where the truth is absent.

I heard a minister on a christian radio station the other day state that "God is in control of EVERY set of circumstances in this world"!

My thoughts were, Yes He is "BUT" is EVERY soul that participates within those circumstances also under Gods control at every given moment?

The Holy spirit consoled Paul at one point in his sojourning. That same spirit spoke to Paul in terms of NOT fearing yet we must discern the words which follow the word "Because".

Why didn't the spirit leave off with "For I am with you"? Why the added words "AND I have many people in this city"?

    !Acts 18:9-11
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: "Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, ---> because I have many people in this city ."

So Paul stayed for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God. NIV

Mary is just a person whose physical body (tangible) is now dead and buried. Mary in and of herself was NOT evil, yet the worship of Mary is what? No more than is the internet or a gun EVIL as a stand alone consideration are they?

No, instead it's when they're put to evil use (practice)..

What also came to mind during that broadcast was, how God must look to the uninformed mind within all of the possible sets of circumstances those listening MIGHT be going through?

Meaning those who do NOT Know Him and are blaming God for their recent turn of events/circumstances (crediting God with doing harm to them and/or evil)?

Is the true question all men face from the womb, "Who told you what you think you know to be true about God and why?

In terms of "Increase" why do so many see it as a need to measure their own success? In terms of measurement, whose ruler are they using as they gauge success from within their circumstance(s)?

Why is Christ said to be "Ruler"? How does He rule (measure) His Kingdom?

Is it a necessity or has it become a habit where we keep a rolling tally in order track how pleasing we assume we are to God for any extended period of time?

The word says to "Find out" what is pleasing to God, yet why?v Doesn't the world offer a counterfeit version of that under the premise of what is "Pleasing" to the soul?

The word says from our youth, Children obey your parents so that your life will go well, yet are ALL parents men and woman whose lives belong to God because their own counsel for their children also comes from God?

Clearly there are some qualifiers as to who to listen to and who NOT to listen to in this world. Herein lies the trap (scheme)...

What does the voice sound like that (Displaces Gods counsel) says, "No, your parents are wrong"?

Where do these voices get their breath which suggest, "No, the pastor is misleading you BECAUSE He is....?

How important is it while in this world to be considered as a possession that DOES belong to God?

How "Effectual" is the communication of YOUR Faith in Christ?Philem 6

That the communication of thy faith may become effectual --> by the acknowledging of every good thing --> which is in ---> you --> in Christ Jesus.
    KJV

    Philem 4-7

I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. 7 Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.
    NIV
