I do not understand why so
many people do not come to
Christ and be saved…Do you?

ANSWER:
Yes, I do, because I have been informed in Scriptures
why men reject God and His Son Jesus and the truth.
1. They do not like to retain God in their knowledge
and God has given them over to a reprobate
mind.
Romans 1:28, “And even as they did not like to
retain God in their knowledge, God gave them
over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which
are not convenient;”
2. They do not want to change their lifestyle and so
they hate the light.
John 3:19-21, “19 And this is the condemnation, that
light is come into the world, and men loved
darkness rather than light, because their deeds
were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the
light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should
be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the
light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they
are wrought in God.”
3. They do not understand because they are like
their father, the devil.
John 8:43-44, “43 Why do ye not understand my
speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of
your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the
beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there
is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he
speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of
it.”
4. They do not love truth
II Thessalonians 2:10, “And with all deceivableness
of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they
received not the love of the truth, that they might
be saved.”
5. They have been deluded because they love
unrighteousness.
II Thessalonians 2:11-12, “11 And for this cause
God shall send them strong delusion, that they should
believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who
believed not the truth, but had pleasure in
unrighteousness.”
6. They will not repent.
Matthew 21:32, “For John came unto you in the way
of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the
publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when
ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye
might believe him.”
7. They love the praises of men more than the
approval of God.
John 12:42-43, “42 Nevertheless among the chief
rulers also many believed on him; but because of the
Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should
be put out of the synagogue: 43 For they loved the
praise of men more than the praise of God.”
These are just a few verses that come to my mind, but
there are many more. Remember that if a man does not
believe, he cannot be saved. One does not have to do
anything to be lost. It is not necessary to burn churches,
destroy Bibles, kill missionaries, curse God, or blaspheme
Christ. In fact, you do not have to do anything to be lost.
He that believeth not is condemned already.
Men are lost because they feel no need, the cost is too
great, and they have no confidence in the one who offers.
That is why you do not buy the insurance policy, the
house, or the car. No need of a Saviour. The cost of
following Jesus is too high and they have no confidence in
Christ. We must establish the need of Christ, show that
they cannot afford to not follow Christ, and not interfere
with people’s confidence in the Saviour by our own

behavior.
