SEEKING GOD? BY STEVE FINNELL

How can men find God? How can men find the truth, and nothing but the truth concerning God's plan for salvation? How can men find the valid terms for pardon?

MEN NEED TO SEEK GOD.

Deuteronomy 4:29 But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search your heart and all your soul.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,and all these things will be added to you.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

How can men seek God and His truth? First men have to bury their pride and believe that God is, and that He is smarter then, they, themselves. Men need to put all preconceived ideas about God and His terms for pardon aside. Prayer is the starting point for the truth about God. Men need to pray that God will show them His truth. Praying that God will confirm as truth, what you perceive to be the truth, is a prayer of arrogance.

KEYS TO SEEKING GOD

1. Honest prayer.

2. Prayerful Bible study.

3. Carefully consider preachers of the truth.

The apostle Peter preached the truth on the Day of Pentecost.

(Acts 2:22-41,47) Peter told who Jesus the Nazarene was. He was a miracle worker.  He was both Lord and Christ. He was resurrected from the grave by God the Father. After the three thousand believed Peter's preaching he told then to repent and be baptized so their sins could be forgiven and that they might receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and be added to the Lord's church.

HONEST PRAYER IS THE FIRST STEP IN SEEKING GOD AND HIS TRUTH!
