DOCTRINES NOT IN THE BIBLE   BY STEVE FINNELL

There are many teachings not found in the Scriptures that men are willing to accept as doctrines from God. There are only two kinds of doctrines, God's teaching and man-made doctrines. God's doctrine  is found in the Bible. Any teaching that is contrary to the Bible is a fabrication of man.

MAN-MADE DOCTRINE: The Father has a body of flesh and bone as tangible as man's.

GOD'S DOCTRINE: John 4:24 God is a spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

MAN-MADE DOCTRINE: The apostle Peter was the first Pope, and Jesus made him the head of the church of Christ, and Peter was God on earth.

GOD'S DOCTRINE: Ephesians 5:23....as Christ also is the head of the church...Ephesians 4:6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.

The is one head of the body of Christ. Jesus is still the one and only head of His church. Jesus is still King of Kings and Lord of Lords. There is one God the Father. God the Father has not appointed any man as God on earth.

MAN-MADE DOCTRINE: Men are saved by grace alone. God selects certain men to have grace and then imputes faith to them so they may be saved.

GOD'S DOCTRINE: Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing , and hearing by the word of Christ.

Faith come from hearing the gospel. Not from being compelled to believe.

GOD'S DOCTRINE: Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.

Faith is the introduction into grace. Being under grace does not precede faith. Grace is available to all mankind, but only through faith in Jesus Christ is grace accessed. MEN ARE NOT GRANTED SALVATION BEFORE THEY BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS THE CHRIST.

GOD'S DOCTRINE: Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

Because of God's grace men have the opportunity for salvation through faith. The gift of God mentioned in Ephesians 2:8 is salvation. The gift spoken of here is not grace nor is it faith.

MEN ARE NOT SAVED BY GRACE ALONE AND IT IS NOT STATED THAT WAY ANYWHERE IN THE BIBLE.

Men can used the Bible and the Bible alone for their instructions from God or they can rely on man-made doctrines.
