WHOSE DOCTRINE SHOULD BE TAUGHT IN THE CHURCH OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST? by steve finnell
Whose doctrine was taught in the first century church of Christ? It was the apostles doctrine.
Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine.....(NKJV)
What was the source of the apostles; doctrine'? It came from God the Father through Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit.
John 7:16 Jesus answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. (NKJV)
John 7:49 "For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.
When Jesus said, "He who believes and is baptized will be saved...(NKJV), He was speaking on behalf of God the Father. When men say, water baptism is not essential for salvation," by whose authority are they speaking? When men say you do not have know Jesus in order to be part of the body of Christ, by whose authority are they speaking?
John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.(NKJV)
The apostles' doctrine was from God the Father through Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
The apostles' doctrine did not come from the man-made traditions of the Pharisees, Jewish elders, nor the scribes. The apostles' doctrine did not come from the Jewish Christian sect of Judaizers.
Whose doctrine should be taught in the, church of God in Christ, today. Should it be the doctrine of the Baptist church, the man-made doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church, Methodist doctrine, or Denominational doctrines in general.
It the first century church devoted themselves to the teaching of apostles' doctrine, then why does the contemporary church devote themselves to the teaching of denominational creeds.
The apostles did not start hundreds of Christians denominations that teach many ways of being saved and allowing them to teach other doctrines contrary to God's doctrine.
God does not write contemporary creed books. The Bible was completed around A.D. 100. The Bible is the only creed book you need for God's truth.
THE NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES ARE THE APOSTLES' DOCTRINE.
