THEOLOGIANS REJECT SCRIPTURES.   by steve finnell

Theologians reject Scriptures and those who accept their views preach it as God's truth. Pride is a stumbling block to the truth.

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (NASB)

Theologians claim God was not smart enough to translate His words into English; so they have to explain it to the under educated. They say that for forgiveness of sins in the original Greek actually means "you are baptized because your sins have already been forgiven." Most preachers repeat the errors that they have been taught. (Note: There are no original manuscripts of the Bible. Men need to trust God to give a trustworthy translation of His word-The Bible) Theologians are not God. The Bible was originally written in three languages: 1. Hebrew, 2. Aramaic, and 3. Greek. God did not expect all men to be scholars in those languages. Can you understand an English dictionary if do not understand English? No. Can you understand a Hebrew dictionary if you do not understand Hebrew? No. Can you understand an Aramaic dictionary if you do not understand Aramaic? No. Can you understand a Greek dictionary if you do not understand Greek? No.  God gives us Bibles in our own language so we can understand His truth. I trust God to give a trustworthy translation of His written word.

Acts 2:38 Kefa answered them, "Turn from sin, return to God, and each of you be immersed on the authority of Yeshua the Messiah into forgiveness of your sins., and you will receive the gift of the Ruach Hakodesh! CJB-Complete Jewish Bible)

Acts 2:38 Peter said, "Turn back to God! Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven. The you will be given the Holy Spirit. (CEV)

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Let each one of you repent and be immersed, in the name of Jesus Christ, in order to the remission of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (The Better Version of The New Testament by Chester Estes)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Romans 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him in baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. (NASB)

Some theologians teach that buried with Him in baptism could also mean buried with Him in sprinkling or pouring. They also proclaim that we were walking in a new life before we were immersed in water because we were saved by faith alone.

Romans 6:4 Through immersion into his death we were buried with him; so that just as, through the glory of the Father, the Messiah was raised from the dead, likewise we too might live a new life. (CJB)

Romans 6:4 We were, therefore, buried with him by immersion into that death; that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, thus we also should walk in newness of life. (TBVOTNT)

Pride is the primary reason for rejecting God's written word.

The Bible teaches that men are not saved until they are immersed in water (baptized). Some theologians deny that Biblical fact. Will you trust God's word or the opinions of theologians?
