USE A LITTLE WINE? BY STEVE


Christians who like the mood altering effects of alcohol like to use a proof-texting Scripture to justify their use of intoxicating beverages. (1 Timothy 5:23 No longer drink water exclusively, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.) Do Christians really drink wine to ensure their good health?

SOME SIDE EFFECTS OF DRINKING ALCOHOL

1. Memory loss.
2. Lack of sound judgement.
3. Mood swings.
4. Animated speech.
5. Poor concentration.
6. Slow reaction time.
7. Jaundice.
8. Liver cancer.
9. Kidney failure.
10. Gastritis.
11. Stroke.
12. Hepatitis.
13. High blood pressure.
14. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
15. Breast cancer.
16. Atrophy of testes.

Use a little wine. REALLY?

To be considered legally drunk in most states in U.S.A you must have a blood alcohol concentration, BAC of 0.08%.

BAC           IMPAIRED ACTIVITIES

0.01-0.05    Alertness and Judgment.

0.06-0.10   Visual tracking and Coordination.

0.11-0.20   Reasoning, depth perception, inappropriate behavior

0.21-0.30   Slurred speech and lack of balance.

0.31-0.40   Loss of temperature regulation and loss of bladder control.

0.41 + Difficulty breathing, slowed heart rate, and death.

There are about 5000 teenage deaths per year that are alcohol related.

Use a little wine. REALLY?

Christians would not drink wine nor any other alcoholic drinks were it not for the mood altering effects
