WHY WAS THE NEW TESTAMENT WRITTEN? by steve finnell
The New Testament was written so men would believe that Jesus is the Christ.
John 20:24-31...31 but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God; and that believing you may have life in His name.(NASB)
Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteous; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. (NASB)
If the Bible, that comes from God the Father, teaches men how to become saved and live the Christian life, then, why do men use man-made, creed books and the extra-Biblical writings of theologians, preachers, priests, and others as their guide for faith, practice and teaching others?
Would not wisdom dictate that using the Bible and the Bible alone would be the way to find the absolute truth?
So-called new revelation and opinions of men are not the avenues to God's absolute truth!
